Hi All,

New here, have lurked before registering, brand new to building, thinking about Nutmeg, think I could do it. Used to sail a Southcoast 22 on Lake Michigan out of Chicago, IL. Need opinions about using Nutmeg in the Gulf of Mexico near the Tampa Bay, FL area.

I'll be near the shore goofing around beach cruising/day sailing but I'll still expect to see some wind and waves. Some folks told me that 15 knots is common wind here and even more is common too. So I was wondering....

Is Nutmeg going to be stable enough here?

Does Nutmeg have enough free board for waters like this?

Please add any thing else that I should consider, given the above.

Thanks

One of the more enthusiastic builders sails on Mobile Bay:
Matt <mvwjsw@cable one.net>
Even though I have done some pretty stupid things I have never been able to capsize her or swamp her.
Others report sailing her in all kinds of conditions-Finland, Argentina, Philippines, Marianas.
She'll outsail a SUNFISH and keep you dry.
