The Nutmeg plans show the distance between the leeboard and the mast as 3'-4+1/2" on centers. I want to move the mast forward to allow for more clearance near the stern. I also intend to install a daggerboard instead of a leeboard. Measuring from the mast aft, how much can I stretch the original measurement and not develope a weather or lee helm?? Is there any other way to mitigate either of those problems. Would a skeg help at all??. Any and all suggestions appreciated:?
