Hello all, my name is Dave, I live in Ottawa, Ont. I am addicted to building boats. Unable to find a self help group yet, but maybe this fourm will help.
Built a few boats over the years, seafleets, row boats and sailboats. Have just sold the sailboat I built in 2004. "Skate" from Dave Gray's HR Solutions. Great little boat, but my self and first mate Zoe the dog have gained a little girth and the boat may have sharnk.
Would like to build a Sam Devlin power cruiser "Dipper" for fishing on lake Ontario. I had no intention of buiding another sailboat at this time. All has changed. During the process of selling Skate the one thing that most people said was "very nice, but small". Two people have asked me if I would buid them a little weight family sailboat. I think that the Nutmeg is ideal. Will order the plans today and start to clean up the shop, which may take longer than the mail! May make a few dollars for a new band saw and a case of pints.
Will keep a photo record of the builds and touch base in a month or so.
