| Hi, I recently bought a 18'4" fiberglass dory built by Beachcomber Fiberglass Tech. of Florida in 1983 and i've got to do some rebuilding on it. I was wondering if anybody here in the forums might have some info on this boat since i can't find any on the web about it.

| I believe we have the same boat!!! I bought mine in Ohio this summer. I run an electric motor in the well. Trying to find any information on Camping cover, it looks like it had one at one time.

| Hey, when i bought my boat i got some extra paperwork with it and a few pictures. Both show the camping cover in place but nothing of what holds it up on the inside, although just some simple wood bows is what i think they used. I had thought about putting a full cover over mine after i fixed it up and useing a simple battan system sewed into some heavy canvas with a elastic cord sewed into the hem of the cover with a few well placed hook and loop fasteners to hold it over the edge. I also have the Fiberglass Tech Beachcomber Dory with little backup information. I would be interested in any of the pictures of yours showing the hatch covers, etc. Also, I am a little uneasy about how/where to attach the sprit to the mast.
Mine does have the camping cover and it is attached with battens running through the canvas that fit into a chrome "socket" inside the wooden gunnels.
I would be interested in maintaining contact with other Beachcomber Dory owners.
