Hi,
Any info on used Pelicans in the Pacific Northwest and/or get togethers by Pelican owners?
Thanks,
Dave

Hi Dave,

Yes there is a passel of Pelican’s in the Northwest under the San Francisco Pelican Viking Fleet III (the Northwest Fleet). A thousand plus Pelicans were built by the Smith brothers in Bow, WA. They are now built by Huffaker’s Boat Works Anacortes WA (P#360-588-*9429). The Pelican fleet have a members yahoo! message board (and a web site) where more information including their race schedule and get-togethers is available. Yes, Pelican’s are up for sale quite often and can be found after joining the Yahoo! discussion group. Also, if you subscribe to the fleet's newsletter "The Pelican Pouch" boats come up for sale in the classifieds.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Thom,
I joined the Yahoo Pelican group last night. I'll have to check on new ones to get an idea for cost comparison. My main goal here is to find an easily handled, safe, secure small sailboat for my teenage son who doesn't like to heal. Right now he's sailing our sailing dinghy but it's hard for him to move around much. Something like the Pelican seems roomy and stable for him.
Thanks.
Dave
