Hello xx837,
Bit steep on the criteria for a small sailboat... As to unsinkable there is really no such boat. Most modern production boats measure to a Coast Guard floating test, but this is in a static condition -- still water. Get caught out in some severe weather, water gets aboard and with the wave action most boats turn over and float bottom up...! The boat has not sunk, however, this condition is no less life threatening.
Sleep 4 aboard in a cabin... You may need a boat in the 26 - 30+ ft. range to have this accommodation work with any comfort factor. How about a compromise? The Bay Hen a sharpie style sailboat built in the mid 80's into the early 90's might be a choice. 2 can sleep in the cabin and 2 can sleep on the 6' 6" cockpit bench seats with the boom tent over.
Bay Hen Particulars: Designed by Robert K. Johnson, Built by Florida Bay Boat Co. Miami Fl. LOA 21', LWL 18' 3", Beam 6' 3" Draft Board Up 9" Board Down 4', Weight 900 Lbs. Sail Area 155 sq. ft.
Oh, the price... Recent classified ad in MAIB in Cary NC (is that where some neat stereo tube gear is made...?) $5,500 including trailer.
