After flushing my motor and leaving it to sit to drain out, there is a black, tar-like sludge that oozes out of the exhaust with a carbon like smell. I use standard 50:1 ratio, NGK BP 8H N-10 plugs. It'll happen if I troll for a few hours or even if I just run it after 10 minutes with the hose. is this normal?

Probably somwhat normal.  I would try some Amsoil 100-1

synthetic 2cycle oil.  Engine will run cleaner, less smoke, less

plug fouling and it will clean out your exhaust ports with continued

use.  I am assuming you are pre-mixing and don't have a oil

injector system.  Just run it at 100-1 and it will do fine.  I use it

in my Mercs that I premix the oil gas
