New to the forum. I have been a salt water fisherman and usually have had larger boats. I went looking for a flats boat and found this little tinny instead. I bought from the original owners family who had it towed to Florida, then decided to sell.
It is a 1986 Blue Fin, 86 Evinrude 50 VRO, 86 EZ Loader trailer. Some rusting on the trailer, but it looks like it spent it's life in fresh water only. We have decided to keep it that way, so looks like we still need to find our flats boat!!
After cleaning, we were amazed at how original and complete the boat is. Just two small spots in the original vinyl seats, everything else is cherry.
We launched her last Sunday at Lk Griffin in central Florida. Other than some issues with the metal gas tank not venting properly, she ran like a new boat.
I understand that Bayliner owned this brand for a while and called it Specter?? However the 1986 was still owned by Blue Fin. Came with some original paperwork, Evinrude and OMC manuals and maps of lakes in Michigan. Sweet little time capsule.
Hope to hear from som other owners or those with some history. She looks bulletproof. Tons of rivets up the bow and elsewhere. Here's some photobucket pics...
