I just got this motor from my dad. It hasn't seen any water in at least 5 years, most likely much longer. I am wondering what work needs to be done before it's first startup? Oil change, plugs, carb rebuild, etc.? I have run many older 2 stroke snowmobiles, but am completely new to outboards. It will be going onto a 19 Ft canoe with a homemade mount board(the other side has an electric trolling motor). Are there any things that I need to be aware of when running this motor? Known issues? All that I've been able to find out so far is that it runs leaded premix(decal next to the filler for the tank). Also, can I run an external tank on this motor(more capacity for longer weekends with less refueling)? Thanks.
