Ok all, I am a newbie and wasnt concentrating when I filled my brand new Hidea 4 Stroke 5HP motor with about 500mls too much motor oil.
I didnt relize this till I tried to sart it and it wouldnt. It was like it was flooded( well I spose it was)
After trying to start it for several more pulls I gave up, I could smell fuel and I thought I'd better go back to basics. I read the manual again and then smacked myself in the head....too much oil in the sump!!!!
So my plan is to suck /syringe to 500ml extra out, let it sit for a day and let gravity do some work and try again.
What else should I do, use carby cleaner? Water dispersant?
I checked the spark plug and it looked OK, not overly oily, smelt like petrol and looked clean ( its never worked so it would want to eh)
Any help would be greatly appreciated, its brand new and Im spewing

Gee a fast moving forum this one, ehh!
I fixed the problem myself, syringed out the excess and it started.
Got more help from a caravan forum than this place
