Go to the SBF Small Boat News and the second article from the bottom is the last known address and phone number for Berkeley Engineering. You may have to write a note to them asking the availability of the Mini-Tug plans. Let us know if you get lucky.
We have noticed a trend latley where certian wives of Boat Designers and Navel Architects pick up and sell the plans after their husbands have crossed over the bar... Mrs. Whitthotz for Charles Whittholz, Mrs. Pat Atkin for Billy and John Atkin designs and others.

You can get very good plans for a 25 or a bit bigger Tug called Herculette for wood, steel, glass. Very detailed and very nice. I think it's Sandy Point Boatworks in MA. They are in Ebay as it the other one who builds/plans small boats. Both have a link, Sandy will mail them, the other you download them after paying for them. Both are great.
Good luck

Hi! I am Susie, Berkeley Eastman's daughter in law. YES! We still sell the boat plans! We have 4 plans for mini tugboats, including the Micro 9, the Perfect 10, the Candu Jr,, which is 11 feet, and the Cand EZ, which is 14 feet. I have attached a picture of a Candu EZ. We have 3 sets of plans for houseboats, which include the Aqua Casa 16 and the Aqua Casa 20, and the Cape Codder!
We can be reached at berkeleyengineering@yahoo.com for further information! When the plans are purchased there is a copyright contract on them and they are licensed for the builder only. The plans are really inexpensive still!
Our telephone number is 928-453-8840 and the address is 827 Paso Drive, Lake Havasu City, AZ 86406. We are registered with Paypal now and are in the process of building a website. The site is up online and can be accessed at http://www.berkeley-engineering.com.
Please don't hesitate to call me!

I LOVE THESE BOATS! These little tugs are just WAY cool . What a great way to fish and stay out of the weather and comfortable. Too bad there isn't a design at about 16 feet with the same character. I should think you could even add a small cuddy under the forward deck at that size and still achieve good trolling speed with a 7 hp outboard and have plenty of cool electronics at the helm.... maybe based upon a Maine Lobster Boat but smaller but using the same displacement type hull form.
Any one have such a design already? I guess I better go look at the GlenL and Clarkcraft catalogs and web site. These are just adorable and I bet so much fun on the water. Everybody probably wants a tow!

| Hi! There have been quite a few folks who have taken the Berkeley Engineering Candu E-Z and stretched it to a 16! There is a photo of one on the website at http://www.berkeley-engineering.com. This is a simple thing to do using the plans that you can purchase directly from Berkeley Engineering. I am attaching a photo of the 16 footer. - Susie Attachment: EZStretchedTo16.jpg (Downloaded 76 times)
