Hi all,
My first post in this forum;
I'm interested in building to one of Iain Oughtred's designs, either the Whilly or the Whilly Tern. Does anyone have any experience with either of these boats, or any of his designs for that matter? I'm curious how much difference there is in their performance and handling.
Thanks for any information!

Try this link: The Caledonia Yawl & Voyage of The Aegre Forum Index and you'll find lots of info about oughtred designs, construction and performance.

Hi Zekeur,
Thanks for the reply.
I have indeed found that website and gotten a lot of information from it. My wife also got me one of Iain's catalogs and boatbuilding manuals for Christmas, so now all I need are some time and money! (You don't have a link to those, do you?)
I'm leaning toward the Ness yawl, but I'm probably a year or so away from starting, so I may still end up choosing a different design.
Thanks again for the reply.
Take care,
Kyle

KYLE, you are welcome, for the info, just keep posting as your thought process advances. unfortunately I'm not beginning a project, but my current favorite is undoubtedly the arctic tern. the ness is also very compelling.
