I am wanting to build a boat and trying to learn a little before I pick a design. Can anyone give me an explanation of what a motor well does. I realize it is stronger than just being mounted on the transom and I assume that having the thrust closer to the middle of the boat makes the bow stay closer to level. But I think there is more to it that I am not understanding.
