I have just been given a nice inflatable boat but it does have a few small leaks that need to be repaired. The manufacturer is Toyo and the model number is SX-156. I've been reading online about products used to repair inflatable boats and my concern is making sure I buy a product that is designed for the material my boat is made out of. Does anyone out there know if the Toyo inflatable is rubber, PVC, or some other material?
I can't find the model number you gave associated with Toyo in any searches. Toyo licensened their boats out to several companies under thier own brand names. Do you see any other names on the boat?
What length is the boat? 8ft? 12?
You might try contacting some of the posters in this thread.
The inflatable boat community is small and tenous, but they may know who to put you into contact with. For what it's worth the boats they are discussing are covered in Hyphalon, whatever that is.
Hyphalon is actually Hypalon which is a Chlorosulfonated Polyethylene made by Dupont.
If you look up http://www.polymarine.com they advertise repair products and they have a Advice/Tech Centre section with detailed advice on your question.
They are a UK company but the products they offer must be available in USA - at least now you will know what to ask for.
