so im thinking of building a small (12-16ft) beach sailing cat, but i have this plan drawn out in my head that i cant seem to find anyone else doing. instead of the traditional v-shaped hulls i'd like to try flat bottomed hulls. stitch and glue is the name of the game here. the nose of each hull would be square and flat rather than coming to a point and there would be a good bit of rock in the bottom with a built in keel towards the mid to rear section.

opinions?

thanks,

-scott

Sounds like you're going to frame two "A" scows together.
I'd like to see a concept drawing of that.

I'm not clear on why you'd want the hulls to have flat ends, but flat bottoms I understand.
Why not build a couple of 6-Hour Canoes and use those as the hulls?
