Yes, getting started is the trick. I'll have to check out the plywood you mention. I haven't heard of that type.

It's been a while since I've dug out the plans. I was thinking that the plans show sheet construction instead of lapstrake.

Okoume is the wood species for the high end marine plywood. No voids, very tight grain. BS1088 is the british standard for this plywood level.

Here in VT it is $108 per 4x8 sheet of 1/2" / 12mm.

Attached is the latest photo, from today. Most of the deck framing is now done, and I will put the decking on next week.

Nice looking job so far. Okoume would be good wood to use. I haven't priced it out here but it's probably close to what your price was. Many people buy marine wood from Edensaw in Port Townsend out here. I just checked their website and they reference the 1088 but no prices.
