In 1925 John Hogg (waving) with Frank Wilton piloted the "Transco I" from Astoria, OR to New York City a distance of 5,286 miles. Note shipmate Spy on the fordeck. In 1959 John Hogg again traversed America's waterways coast to coast in a different small craft "Transco II", this time from New York to Astoria OR (map below shows route of second trip) with a new co-pilot John Dahl.
This double feat begs the question: Could this be done today...?
