Below is a color chart showing the alpha/numeric Pennants or Fag Communication System developed and used by vessels down through the last century or so. One could print out the image in color, cover it with clear plastic Con-Tact (self adhesive clear plastic covering) and place it on your boat for future reference. The next time another vessel passes flying pennants one could see if the flags spelled out any words that made sense.
